Spiraea Lemon Princess
This Japanese spirea cultivar is a compact, dense, upright, mounded, deciduous shrub which typically grows 1.5-2' tall with a slightly larger spread. Cultivar name is in reference to the yellow leaves (to 3" long) which are oval and sharply toothed. Yellow leaf color often fades as the summer progresses, however. Features numerous tiny pink flowers in flat-topped clusters (corymbs) in late spring to mid-summer. Foliage may turn attractive shades of red and orange in autumn, but this usually does not occur on a regular basis. Attractive to butterflies.
